Program Description:

The goal of this program is to provide doctoral scientists or physicians the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to practice clinical chemistry in a hospital or industrial setting. Since trainees may have different backgrounds, the structure of the program is very flexible. However, each trainee will rotate through all sections of the laboratory at either Children's Hospital or the adjacent Brigham and Women's Hospital, attend weekly clinical pathology seminars and endocrine and toxicology rounds, attend didactic sessions with faculty, participate in teaching medical technologists and medical students, attend laboratory management sessions, and conduct research project and present data at national meetings. Trainees are expected at the end of fellowship to seek certification by the ABCC or equivalent Board.
